The Teacher Education Institute (TEI) is a yearly convening of teacher educators, faculty site coordinators, and clinical educators that emphasizes a shared understanding of the focus practices as well as models for instructional coaching.
Focus Practices
At the UNC Charlotte Cato College of Education, teacher education programs have embedded focus practices into their curriculum. These focus practices represent the skills in which all novice teachers must demonstrate competency.
Curriculum Mapping Guide
The curriculum mapping guide is a tool used by faculty in the Cato College of Education to develop and revise programming. Inspired by the concept of backwards design, the mapping guide encourages the coordination of learning objectives and desired outcomes followed by course and content sequencing.
